About FfD4
The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), hosted by the Government of Spain and convened by the United Nations, took place from 30 June to 3 July 2025 at the FIBES Exhibition and Conference Centre in Seville, Spain.
Held under the powerful theme “Financing Our Future,” FfD4 served as a unique high-level platform to:
- Advance reform of the international financial architecture
- Mobilize sustainable investments toward achieving the SDGs
- Foster equitable, inclusive, and transparent global financial systems
FfD4 is the only forum where Heads of State and Government, alongside international organizations, financial institutions, trade entities, civil society, businesses, and the entire UN System, come together at the highest levels to drive international cooperation and accountability in development finance.
UVGI’s Participation
United Voices for Global Impact (UVGI) was honored to participate in FfD4, bringing the voices and priorities of underserved and marginalized communities to the global stage.

High-Level Opening and Pre-Conference Events
The Pre-Opening Session of FfD4 took place at Palacio de Congresos, Fibes Conference and Exhibition Center in Seville, featuring a high-level special address by His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain 🇪🇸, emphasizing Spain’s leadership in global development.
The Opening Segment included powerful statements from world leaders and key multilateral representatives
Program Highlights
The FfD4 agenda featured a dynamic, inclusive program that included:
- Official Program (Plenary, Opening, and Closing Sessions)
- Six Multi-Stakeholder Roundtables, co-chaired by Heads of State and Government, addressing pressing global financial topics aligned with the FfD Action Areas
- Special and Side Events, including:

These key events fostered meaningful engagement among civil society, the private sector, policymakers, and international institutions.
International Business Forum
The International Business Forum was inaugurated with a welcome address by:
- H.E. Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain
- Mr. AntĂłnio Guterres, UN Secretary-General
- Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce, among other high-ranking officials
This forum enabled robust dialogue on aligning business investment with global development objectives and strengthening public-private cooperation for long-term impact.
Financing for Development: A Global Imperative
The FfD process at the UN builds on previous landmark conferences:
- Monterrey, Mexico (2002)
- Doha, Qatar (2008)
- Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (2015)
FfD4 responds to urgent global needs by exploring innovative approaches to mobilize resources, support developing countries, and elevate Financing for Development as a central pillar of global policy.
Over 200 ministers and numerous Heads of State and Government convened in Seville, reaffirming collective commitment to reimagining global finance for sustainable, inclusive development.
