Overview:
United Voices For Global Impact (UVGI) and the African Harmony Collective (AHC), in partnership with the Zomba District Youth Office and financially supported by United Voices for Global Impact (UVGI), organized an environmental conservation meeting at Sakata Primary School. The event aimed to empower students to actively engage in environmental conservation through education on its importance, the effects of climate change, and the establishment of an Environmental Conservation and Sanitation Club. The 20-member club (10 boys and 10 girls) will focus on tree planting, sanitation, and raising awareness about conservation. Motivational talks highlighted the benefits of environmental preservation, such as biodiversity support, climate change mitigation, and improved agriculture. The initiative, supported by school administration and community leaders, seeks to instill sustainable practices, create healthier environments, and address Zomba’s severe environmental degradation. This project, if replicated widely, promises lasting benefits for schools, communities, and Malawi as a whole.
