Dr. Hala Ghoson, PharmD, is a research pharmacist whose unwavering commitment to global health and humanitarian causes has left an indelible mark on many communities worldwide. Holding a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Houston, Dr. Ghoson plays a pivotal role within the University of Texas Medical Branch, overseeing Investigational Drug Services and providing vital support to various drug and vaccine research programs.

Throughout the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Ghoson's leadership spearheaded numerous vaccine awareness campaigns, both locally and internationally. Recognizing the pervasive impact of misinformation on vaccine confidence, she tirelessly advocated for informed decision-making, combating hesitancy and refusal, and ultimately influencing positive health outcomes.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Ghoson is a passionate advocate for global health, a champion for women and girls, and human rights and anti-human trafficking advocate. Her impactful health contributions have earned her numerous honors and awards, including the International Fakhr Al-Arab Award in Dubai and the Shield of Excellence Award presented by the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

Dr. Ghoson's influence extends beyond accolades, as she leverages her expertise to educate and empower communities worldwide. From media appearances to international humanitarian missions in Honduras, Lebanon, and Guatemala, she actively engages in initiatives aimed at improving healthcare access and promoting social justice.

Furthermore, Dr. Ghoson's commitment to advancing gender equality and human rights is evident through her involvement in international forums and working groups. As a delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women and a member of various United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Civil Society & NGO working groups, she supports policies and contributes to initiatives that advocate for the rights and well-being of women and girls globally.

Jackie Schiffer

Ambassador, USA

Jackie is honored to serve as an Ambassador for United Voices For Global Impact. She is a recent graduate of the University for Peace/United Nations Institute of Training and Research’s MA in Diplomacy. Jackie currently serves as a UNA-USA Global Goals Ambassador and Youth Observer to the World Food Forum.

As founder of NJ Hunger Heroes, she has travelled over 1,000 miles across the state of NJ to galvanize and learn from local food security organizations. In 2023, Jackie served as the food security task force leader for the NJ Junior Leagues State and Public Affairs Committee.

Jackie’s dedication to social justice and equitable food distribution is unwavering. Her work emphasizes the importance of global collaboration and innovative solutions to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Maya Ghoson, DPT

Secretary

Dr. Maya Ghoson is a physical therapist currently working at Houston Methodist who earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Tech University. Before pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Ghoson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Houston Bauer College of Business.

In addition to her educational background, Dr. Ghoson is a Certified Nutrition Coach. Her dedication to nutrition stems from a passion for preventive health, recognizing that diet and lifestyle play crucial roles in maintaining optimal health and preventing diseases. Her holistic approach integrates physical therapy and nutritional guidance, offering a comprehensive wellness strategy to her patients.

Dr. Maya Ghoson is an advocate for a healthy and active lifestyle. She is a well-rounded professional whose diverse skills and passions make her a valuable asset to the healthcare community dedicated to improving the lives of those she serves. Ashraf Sharaf

Ambassador - Egypt Journalist

A distinguished journalist with nearly 15 years of experience, known for mastering journalism in television, and radio programs and skilled in the content management for both written and electronic media, managing various platforms, and new journalism techniques such as cross-media and infographics. Also Ashraf possesses the ability to write all different journalistic forms including human interest stories, reports, opinion articles, investigations, and investigative journalism.

Rasha Mounir

Rasha Mounir is a seasoned news correspondent with Master's in Political Sociology from the prestigious Ain Shams University in Egypt. She worked as an investigative field journalist in Egyptian and Arab newspapers, holding several key positions, most notably Head of Field Investigations and in charge for the Arab Women's Affairs in several news agencies in Egypt and Arab countries.

Among the most important investigations she conducted was "The Truth about Terrorism in Egypt and its Impact on Egyptian Women. Rasha covered major political events in highly dangerous areas near the Egyptian-Libyan border and Northern Sinai.

Rasha trained a large team of young women and men in field journalism and conducted a series of interviews with many female leaders in most Arab countries.

Beyond journalism, Rasha has actively engaged in on-the-ground efforts to support and uplift underserved communities. Her passion extends to mentoring and educating youth, aiming to provide them with opportunities and resources to overcome challenges and build better futures.

Rasha's approach to service combines her professional expertise with a personal commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those she serves make her a great addition to UVGI team.

Brown Masingati

Ambassador- Malawi, East Africa Region

Brown Masingati is an experienced social worker and founder of “Harmony Families and Community,” a non-profit organization committed to serving and empowering vulnerable populations. Throughout his career, Brown has held several roles. His positions have included Research Assistant, Environmental Conservation Activist, Community and Nutrition Coordinator, Community Conflict and Mediation Officer, Child Protection Officer, Resource Mobilization Officer, and Community Development Officer. He has worked with organizations such as World Vision Malawi, Partners in Action for Sustainable Development, the Centre for Social Research at the University of Malawi, and ICAP Malawi under MPHIA.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Zomba Theological College. He has also certifications in Child Justice, HIV/AIDS Counseling Management, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Resource Mobilization and Community Empowerment. In addition to Leadership Coaching certification from the United States Peace Corps and Geospatial Data for Disaster Risk Management from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST).

In his free time, he enjoys conducting research and writing on issues affecting vulnerable groups in Malawi, including climate justice. His advocacy work extends to youth, focusing on drug and substance abuse, and he is also a passionate gender activist.

Brown's extensive experience in various charity organizations and research institutions to benefit the communities he serves make him a valuable asset to UVGI team continuously striving to create positive impact and support to those in need.

Zeinab Samadi

Treasurer

Zeinab Samadi is an accomplished entrepreneur and business owner, renowned for her successful catering business that she built from the ground up with very limited resources.

In addition to her entrepreneurial success, Zeinab is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment. She deeply understands the unique challenges that young people face today, that hinder their growth.

Zeinab is committed to advocating for their rights and creating pathways for their success.

Through her business and advocacy work, Zeinab exemplifies the impact that one person can have on their community. Her dedication to both her entrepreneurial endeavors and her mission to empower the next generation highlights her commitment to creating lasting positive change.

Eric Zimicki, DPT

Ambassador, USA
Health and Wellness

Eric Zimicki is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, with six years of experience as an outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapist. His expertise is further underscored by his fellowship with the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists, where he has developed specializations in concussion and vestibular conditions.

Dr. Zimicki professional journey is marked by a profound commitment to empowering individuals through education on preventive care. He firmly believes that proactive health management, encompassing lifestyle, diet, and exercise, is essential for achieving optimal well-being. His dedication to patient education ensures that those under his care are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to maintain and improve their health over the long term.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Zimicki is a passionate advocate for community involvement and volunteerism. He finds immense joy and fulfillment in giving back, participating in both local initiatives and international outreach programs. Outside of his professional and volunteer activities, he has a strong passion for fitness and outdoor pursuits such as Weightlifting and paddle boarding.

Looking ahead, Dr. Zimicki is excited to continue exploring innovative ways to add value to the local and global community, whether through advancing his expertise in physical therapy, engaging in community service, or promoting preventive health education, he is dedicated to making a positive impact and improving the quality of life for others.

Zeina Zoghaib

Mentorship Program Director

Zeina Zoghaib is a high school science teacher in Hoover, Alabama. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from The Lebanese University of Beirut and currently teaches Environmental Science, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Physical Science classes. Zeina finds teaching incredibly rewarding and her number one priority is the well-being and quality education of her students and always enthusiastic about building strong relationships with her students and their parents.

In 2019, Zeina joined the University of West Alabama to pursue a Master of Education in General Science, which has significantly enhanced her teaching skills.

Zeina is a strong advocate for quality education and the advancement of teacher education, particularly in digital education. She is currently pursuing a Teacher Leader Education Specialist program at the University of West Alabama, aiming to become an expert in mentoring strategies, curriculum development, assessment, research, and more. Her commitment to continuous learning and her passion for education make her an invaluable asset to her students and the broader educational community.

Patrick Phiri

Youth Program Coordinator- Malawi

Patrick Phiri is a senior government secondary school teacher with a teaching experience of over 14 years, as a well a volunteer Head of Programs for “Keep and Encourage Centre” (KECE) Youth Organization. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Malawi (Chancellor College) as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health Systems Management from Exploits University.

He Patrick is deeply committed to women’s empowerment, youth development, environmental management, and human nutrition and health. He also believes in creating opportunities for the neglected, vulnerable, and marginalized, aiming to bring them hope and positive change. Currently, he has a strong passion for combating substance and drug abuse among the youth, including both secondary and tertiary students.

He has extensive experience in project management, student counseling, and guidance. Through dedication and hard work, Patrick has risen through the ranks from part-time lecturer to the position of Head of Academics.

Additionally Patrick has as well worked with the US Peace Corps Volunteers in managing a number of projects including, Malaria, Skillz Grassroot Soccer, LEAD, and WASH.
