United Voices For Global Impact Participates in Geneva Civil Society Consultation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Geneva, Switzerland, 10 October 2024 United Voices For Global Impact, NGO is proud to announce their full participation in the upcoming United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Beijing+30 Civil Society Consultation, to be held 19-20 October 2024 in Geneva. Bringing together NGO CSW Geneva member organizations, member states, and other stakeholders, the consultation will offer a comprehensive review of the UNECE progress related to the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA) and its 12 Critical Areas of Concern. United Voices For Global Impact is proud to be playing a part in this important event.

The NGO CSW Geneva and its honored guest speakers will present reflections on the progress of the BPfA, identify challenges, and offer participants actionable resources for driving positive change for women and girls in the UNECE region. “The event will unite the voices of women and girls across the UNECE region and ensure that their concerns are addressed as governments review their commitments, “says Carolyn Handschin-Moser, President of NGO CSW Geneva.

One of the cornerstones of this consultation is the participation of civil society representatives from all 56 UNECE countries. Our representative Dr. Hala Ghoson says

“We have contributed to Working Groups that focused on one of the 12 Critical Areas of Concern outlined in the BPfA outlining our concerns, achievements, gaps, and challenges, and made suggestions to short-, medium-, and long-term recommendations for action”.

We look forward to the unique opportunity to engage with leading civil society representatives from across the UNECE region, contribute to discussions on the pressing challenges facing women today, and play a pivotal role in shaping the advocacy agenda for the future. The event will feature expert-led working groups, providing actionable recommendations to governments, UN bodies, and the private sector.
