Event: UN Second World Summit for Social Development
Date: 04-06 November, 2025
Location: Doha, Qatar
United Voices for Global Impact Participates in the Second World Summit for Social Development.
The United Nations General Assembly, through its resolutions 78/261 and 78/318, has decided to convene the World Social Summit in 2025, officially titled the Second World Summit for Social Development. Scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from 4–6 November 2025, this high-level gathering—convening at the level of Heads of State or Government—aims to accelerate global action on social development and renew commitment to the outcomes of the 1995 Copenhagen World Summit for Social Development, including the Copenhagen Declaration and Program of Action.
Thirty years after the historic 1995 summit in Copenhagen, where world leaders adopted the Ten Commitments and pledged to put people at the center of development, the international community will come together once again. In a world marked by widening inequalities, demographic shifts, and rapid technological and environmental change, this summit serves as a pivotal moment to reaffirm global solidarity and strengthen efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Second World Summit for Social Development aims to address persistent gaps in poverty eradication, promote full employment and decent work, and advance social inclusion—ensuring that no one is left behind. It will convene leaders from governments, international organizations, civil society, NGOs, academia, the private sector, cooperatives, and the UN system to shape forward-looking strategies that foster equitable, resilient, and sustainable societies.
