Event: UN International Migration Review Forum
Date: 5-8 May, 2026
Location: UN Headquarters, New York

United Voices for Global Impact (UVGI) was honored to participate in the Second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) 2026, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from May 5–8, 2026, following the Informal Interactive Multi-Stakeholder Hearing on May 4.

Convened under the leadership of the President of the United Nations General Assembly, the IMRF serves as the principal global platform for reviewing the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM). The Forum brings together UN Member States, UN agencies, civil society organizations, international institutions, and stakeholders to assess progress, strengthen international cooperation, and identify priorities for the coming years.

The 2026 Forum focused on advancing rights-based migration governance, strengthening protection for migrants and displaced populations, addressing climate-related displacement, promoting safe and regular migration pathways, and reinforcing international collaboration to uphold human dignity and human rights.

During the Informal Interactive Multi-Stakeholder Hearing, UVGI delivered an intervention emphasizing that migration must not be addressed solely as a policy issue, but through a human rights–based and people-centered approach that guarantees equitable access to essential services and upholds dignity without discrimination.

The intervention also highlighted the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, drawing attention to the growing displacement of civilians, the loss of homes and livelihoods, and the urgent need for international action grounded in justice, protection, and human rights.

As part of the Forum, UVGI also participated in side events organized and moderated by the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for the United Nations, focusing on decent work, labor protections, fair recruitment practices, and inclusive migration governance.

The Forum concluded with the adoption of an intergovernmental agreed Progress Declaration reaffirming Member States’ commitment to the objectives and guiding principles of the Global Compact for Migration and continued cooperation through 2030.

UVGI remains committed to advancing inclusive dialogue, human rights, sustainable development, migrant protection, and global advocacy efforts that amplify the voices of underserved and vulnerable communities worldwide.

Migration is not only a policy issue — it is a human story.
